SERIAL ISP

With motherboards becoming more complex, there is a need for more hardware space optimization.

Manufacturers are using smaller footprint bios chips with chipset serial communication protocol, this is clear on  a few high end consumer socket 775 motherboards (e.g. P7N DIAMOND ), most but not all of these SERIAL EEPROMS can be re-programmed in circuit via an ISP-HEADER, if no header is available then the most efficient repair method is to remove the chip and re-program out of circuit then re-solder newly programmed bios chip  back onto motherboard . We can provide both methods at very reasonable costs, as some of these boards are near the £200 to buy!

If your motherboard has the ISP header the cost is £14.99 including  return P&P to the UK and Northern Ireland, if we need to remove the bios chip then it is the same price as a hard-soldered motherboard bios repair in the online shop.

If you need any help with this just call or e-mail Biosmaster.

Below are some example's of 8-pin serial MOTHERBOARD EPROM's :-

8-pin PDIP on the left(usually socketed);8-pin SO on right(soldered surface mount)
